paper summary blog

The topic that I picked for my essay is called, “The Luxury of Parents”. I am going to base this essay on my own life and family. I had to decide between doing this topic, and another topic called, “The perception of Jesus Christ”. It was supposed to be a topic about how people in our society and media viewed Jesus Christ as in looks wise, and characteristics wise. I went on the Library page and tried to find some sources for the topic I am writing about and it was fairly difficult to find some sources. There aren’t really that many sources of things that have to do with the luxury of family. I was, however, able to find one source about the emotions and basically the effects that it brings.

Like I said, there weren’t a lot of sources that I could find online or in the library, mainly because this is a topic that I am using mainly person experience on. I am going to share a quick story of mine so that you can get an idea of what I’m going to be writing in my essay. When I was little, my brother and I moved to the United States with my mother and father. They wanted to move us so that we could get a better life and get a better education. After a while of being in America, my parents had to go back home because they needed to go back to their jobs so that they can provide for us. With that being said, we started to live with our grandparents ever since. My mom and dad would come visit us from Nigeria at least once a year, sometimes even more. As time went on, it started to get harder for them to come and visit. At the moment, I have not seen my dad in the past 3 years due to the fact that the Nigerian Embassy rejected his visa multiple times. My mother, on the other hand, visits more frequently. Up until this year, they have rejected her visa as well. I might not be able to see her for at least 2 years until they accept her visa again.
I am going to use this story to talk about how people take for granted just the fact that they are able to see and be with their parents every day. I have even heard some people saying they wished their parents were dead. It gets me heated when people say that because there are some people that don’t even have parents and some people that don’t see their parents that often that would love to see them again. Be grateful for that you have.
