On Friday night, I watched the play “The Life of Galileo”.
The play started off pretty good. I thought that the actress that played
Galileo did a pretty good job of portraying him. I was a little surprised when I
saw that it wasn’t a man playing the role of Galileo. I thought the play would
suffer because of that, but I was wrong. What caught my attention of the girl
that played Galileo was that she had an accent. A German one I believe. I think
that helped her portray the role better. This was the first play that I have
ever been to so it was interesting for me to see an actual play and how it
works. Every so often when they switched scenes, they would dim the lights and
rearrange the stage and put on props for the upcoming scene. One of scenes
caught my attention. They were talking about heaven and one of the character
said “God does not exist”. It was funny because right after she said that, all
of my friends that came to watch the play with me just stared at me waiting for
me to say something because they know that I am a pretty religious person. One
thing that I didn’t really like about the play was that at times the actors
were talking to fact or not talking very coherently. There were some parts of
the play that I didn’t quite get because the actor was talking to fast. And
also at times, the actor playing the role of Galileo was hard to understand
because of her accent. Overall it was a pretty good play, I wasn’t able to stay
for the whole end of it and ended up leaving during intermission so I didn’t
get to see what happens at the end.
